February 2010: MiTo MultiAir
Alfa Romeo, always a byword for sophisticated engineering and high-performing engines, proudly presents the revolutionary MultiAir system, developed and patented by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies. The forerunner of this revolutionary family is the MultiAir 1.4 engine, offered in the UK on the Alfa Romeo MiTo model with two different power levels (135 HP and 170 HP), both Euro5-ready.
The new MultiAir engines are designed from the development stage to further enhance the Alfa D.N.A. selector, the device that allows the personality of the Alfa Romeo MiTo to be adapted to the driver’s needs and different road conditions. The ‘Start&Stop’ system, making its debut combined with MultiAir engines for the first time on an Alfa Romeo, temporarily turns off the engine (when waiting at a traffic light, for example) and then restarts it to guarantee reduced fuel consumption.
The new 135 BHP engine’s excellent performance is combined with respect for the environment and outstanding fuel economy. This excellence is reflected in particularly low CO2 emissions, equal to 129 g/km, with a combined fuel consumption of just 5.6 litres every 100 km.
June 08: The Alfa MiTo badge unveiled.
From the outset, Alfa Romeo wanted the MiTo to be a car that would reflect and embody the passion, ideas and creativity of its fans and owners. That's why visitors to www.alfaromeo.com were asked to choose their favourite out of seven possible designs for the MiTo's logo.
The winning design is shown here. It's a modern, thought-provoking and forward looking design that expresses the character of the MiTo perfectly.

February 2008: Alfa Romeo unveils the new Alfa MiTo.
The MiTo follows as the next launch to the 8C Competizione, Alfa Romeo’s icon for style and technology – the MiTo shares some of its innovative features.
Its name has a deep-seated link between the past and future of the brand: between Milan, the design capital that brought the car’s style into being, and Turin, where it will go in to production.
This highlights Alfa’s pride in its Milanese roots.
With its contemporary and innovative design, and a name redolent of history, the MiTo has great significance for Alfa Romeo.
The headlights and tail lights represent a distinctive personalised feature: a frame featuring different forms of material processing and colours to create an ultra-stylish eye-liner effect that underscores the car’s style and aggression.
For total comfort, only the best materials have been used, with unmistakably Italian designer fabrics and leathers.
Seated in the MiTo, you feel ready to experience the thrills of driving.
Thanks to the wraparound seats that invite the driver to grip the steering wheel.
