New MiTo Twin Air soon to be delivered

The Alfa Romeo MiTo will finally get TwinAir, two-cylinder petrol engine and with it free road tax in the UK for the first time on petrol Alfa Romeo. Arriving at our dealership's in July 2012.

The TwinAir engine which was the International Engine of the Year 2011, was introduced to the Fiat 500 city car last year, where it's unique two cylinder size meant it was the smallest and greenest petrol engine in the UK.

CO2 emissions low enough to qualify for zero Vehicle Exercise Duty and exemption from the London congestion charge led to it being described as 'one of the all-time great engines' by judges of the International Engine of the Year awards.

The 85bhp unit will deliver CO2 emissions of 98g/km thanks to the use of Start/Stop technology designed to automatically switch off the engine when the car is stationary in busy city traffic.

It will be joined in the MiTo range by a new 1.3-litre diesel engine developing 85bhp as Alfa looks to reduce the environmental impact of its smallest car.

Alfa Romeo offers four trim levels with the MiTo; Turismo, Lusso, Veloce and the Cloverleaf model, which uses its own 1.4-litre 170bhp engine for more performance.
